Business Phone System Features for All Companies

Nowadays, there is plenty of sophisticated technology that helps businesses of all sizes and in many aspects. One such modern invention that businesses have come to realize is Voice over Internet Protocol technology or VoIP. One option in the VoIP industry that is fast becoming popular due to its demand is the virtual PBX feature. A virtual PBX provides a telephony system through an Internet download which is managed by an outside service. It gives an easy and affordable setup for any business to make use of its VoIP services. But what exactly is a virtual PBX and what are the benefits that come along with this option?

The acronym PBX stands for private branch exchange or simply put, it is a telephone exchange system that serves one business. This technology was first introduced in order to give companies the manageability of their phone systems through in-house operators. PBX systems today not only just connect calls, but now it can also connect fax machines, computer modems and other technology that uses phone lines for its transmission.

But the problem with this at first is that businesses that are considering this service had to look for a way to do so without spending a lot. This led to the creation of hosted PBX systems. Instead of the system being located at the business, it is located at the site of the VoIP host so that small businesses can benefit from the same advantages without having to maintain a staff to keep the system working.

These virtual PBX providers have expanded their services to include messaging, call-forwarding and advanced features such as click to call. This last feature allows the user to contact a person through the Internet in real time either in text or through phone call. Requests from the click to call feature are mostly made on websites but can also be initiated by hyperlinks.

There are many telephone business services today that provide PBX solutions and click to call features for big and small companies. Businesses that apply for these options benefit because these options only require little training and no extra hardware, requiring only a low startup cost for any business.
